Wythe County Heritage Days
Festival
On the third Saturday in September, the sights, sounds and smells
of yesteryear come to life in Wythe County at the New River Trail
State Park at Foster Falls during the Annual Heritage Days Festival.
Chair caners, soap and candle makers, wood carvers, spinners and
weavers, quilters and many more come together to share their talents
and to keep alive the heritage of their ancestors.
Held next to the beautiful New River and scattered among restored
farm buildings, this festival is designed for the entire family.
Storytellers, puppet and magic shows, and old time and bluegrass
bands are sure to keep you entertained. Games from the past, an
old fashioned cake walk and many more activities abound throughout
the day. Relax on one of our porch swings, lounge under a shade
tree or take a leisurely ride in a horse-drawn carriage and enjoy
a trip back in time. Sponsored by Wythe County Parks and Recreation
and The Plumer-Shortt Arts Guild. For more information, call 276-223-6022.
