  Wytheville's Historic Walking Tour
Take a leisurely walk through history and see some of the oldest and most interest
ing structures in Wytheville. This self-guided tour begins in Downtown at the Thomas J. Boyd and Haller-Gibboney Rock House Museums and leads you to over 50 structures.
Learn many interesting facts including who was Wytheville's first physician, how the Great Road passed through Wytheville, what role Dr. Withers played in the Civil War and how a young lady from Wytheville became First Lady.
Also included in this full-color brochure are the locations of local genealogical resources as well as information concerning some of the local cemeteries.
This approximately 1 hour tour can also be taken by automobile. Copies of the brochure are available at either of the two
above-mentioned museums, at the Visitor Center located in the Wytheville Municipal Building at 150 East Monroe Street or at the numerous locations of the Virginia Welcome Centers.

  The History That Time Forgot. . .Comes Alive Again.
The African American Heritage Driving Tour of Wythe County takes a closer look at
this important segment of local history. The tour details what is presently known about this aspect of history and shows examples of places where people lived, learned and worshiped. Brief write-ups concerning some of the people who lived in the area are also included.
Over 25 churches, schools and cemeteries are included in this tour. It can be taken in its entirety or in parts. Brochures are available at the Visitor Center located in the Wytheville Municipal Building at 150 East Monroe Street or at either of the two museums located across the street.
  Back Roads
If you are looking for some interesting sites that are off the beaten track, but not too
far off, then you're looking for Back Roads. This full-color brochure shows you dozens of things to see and do along the I-77 corridor in Virginia.
Visit interesting fruit stands and orchards, hear some live bluegrass music, enjoy a night of theatre, see breathtaking scenic beauty, learn about the history of the area, play a round of golf or show at the unique gift shops throughout the region. Each of these attractions is within easy access of I-77. Most locations are 10-30 minutes from the exit.
